Day 1

ARRIVE COCHIN AIRPORT

Upon arrival at Cochin airport, our representative will receive you. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for rest. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2

COCHIN - MUNNAR (130 KMS/04 HRS)

Morning after breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Munnar. Enroute, visit the beautiful Cheeyapara and Valara waterfalls. Enjoy the breath-taking and splendid waterfall down the seven steps. Munnar - situated 1600 Meter above sea level at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, was once the summer station of erstwhile British Rule in South India and the best hill station with sprawling tea plantations in the state. Blessed with a rich variety of flora and fauna with the most well-known Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana) flowering once in 12 years. Arrive at Munnar and check in to the hotel/resort. Evening proceed for a Shola Sunset trip (Timing 04:00 pm – 08:00 pm), a blend of jeep safari (4x4) through lush green cardamom forest and a medium difficult trek uphill to see a splendid sunset. We serve our guest our special coffee/tea and snacks during sunset. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3

MUNNAR (KOLUKKUMALAI JEEP SAFARI, TEA TRAIL & ORTHODOX TEA FACTORY VISIT)

Morning after breakfast, drive through the Kannan Devan hills tea plantations and scenic beauty valleys, lock heart gap and spice plantations. Around 25 Kms drive, we will reach the jumpy, bumpy, rugged road to the World’s highest organic tea growing estate, situated in the eastern slope of western Ghats which makes the tea very special as well the view. While driving we will witness spectacular view of tea estates and ride will be through small narrow roads with few curves. Once, we reach at the top hill, and enjoy picturesque view. Later, visit one of the oldest and highest orthodox tea-factory in the world built around 1930’s. You can see the processing of tea like - have fresh tea picked, processed and made on the spot. Later walk to a small ground/plain to have our picnic lunch near the cliff with wonderful view around. Later drive back to Munnar or you can walk through on the way. Guest can buy Kolukkumalai Tea from factory outlets. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4

MUNNAR (CHINNAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY)

morning after breakfast, proceed for a wonderful jeep ride which will take you through Madupatty, Echo-Point & Kundala Dam. After visting Kundala Dam, take a diversion (around 08 Kms) through beautiful valley to Anamudi Shola National Park “the biggest Shola forest in the World”. You can witness most of the endemic birds in this region such as Nilgiri languor, Malabar giant squirrel, as common and few other mammals including elephant, gaur, barking deer, Sambar deer, endemic butterfly’s, insects etc. The other most spectacular sighting in this park is a group of TREE FERN in the height of coconut trees which known as living fossil on the planet. While we cross the National Park, we will reach Kanthallore village, where we can see couple of tribal villages, terrace cultivations, paddy fields, sugarcane fields, sandal wood, Historical Hermitages “Muniyara” etc. Enjoy your picnic lunch. After lunch proceed to Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary, it will be 12 Kms drive through the Sanctuary. We will go for about 2-3 hours trek to spot any wildlife and return back to Munnar through Marayoor Sandal Wood forest. Drive back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5

DAY 05: MUNNAR (MEESAPULIMALAI)

Morning after breakfast, drive up to Silent valley estate through green carpeted tea plantations of KDHP to the starting point situated about 1750 meters MSL. Start with the jeep able track (used by only forest department, the trek will pass through gum trees, pine plantations etc. Before we reach the grasslands, we will see some nice waterfalls (seasonal). Once we reach the grassland, rest of trek will be on the ridges of majestic Western Ghats with the spectacular view around, we need to ascend and descend few hills before we summit the peak “2637 meters MSL” and from the peak we can see low land of Tamil Nadu, highest tea estate, Anayirangal Dam. After a short break we will trek back to Silent Valley through grasslands, gum, pine tree plantations, etc. We will finish our track at silent valley and drive back to Munnar. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6

MUNNAR (CHOKKARMUDI TREK)

Today morning, after an early breakfast, we will do Chokkarmudi Trek from starting at Pothamedu. Chokkarmudi trek will be starting with tea plantations, and leads to the ridge with grasslands, rocky terrain, etc. The magnificent rock-strewn mountain slopes on sides and the covers of shola forest all together will give a photographic pleasure. This trek offers a panaromic view around including, Anaimudi “highest peak in South India” Idukki dam and the water reservoir of Idukki Dam- which is famous as one of the highest arch dams in Asia and third tallest dam in India. Trek path of Chokkarmudi is more indefinite, to reach the top point we need do a small moderate ascend and after that we will descend through the spices or tea plantations to finish our trek. After the tour drive back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7

MUNNAR – THEKKADY/PERIYAR (110 KMS/03 HRS)

Morning after breakfast, drive to Thekkady/ Periyar - Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world. The picturesque lake in the heart of the sanctuary was originally 26 sq km but now spans an area of 55 sq km. This perennial source of water, which initially led to the submersion of large tracts of forestland, slowly attracted wild animals. It eventually resulted in the adjoining forests being granted protection. Post-1975 Periyar finds itself in the enviable position of being a protected tiger reserve. The terrain ranges from hilly to flat grassland areas at the edges of the lakes. The vegetation is of moist deciduous type. Arrive at Thekkady and check in to the resort. Afternoon enjoy an Ayurveda rejuvenation massage. Overnight stay at Thekkady.

Day 8

THEKKADY

Early morning start your day with a boat ride on Periyar Lake which encircles the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you can witness wild elephants, wild boar, deer, monkeys and migratory birds. Return to hotel. After breakfast, proceed for visit to Spice plantation. Also enjoy Elephant back safari. Later day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 9

THEKKADY (GAVI JUNGLE JEEP SAFARI)

Early morning after fresh-n-up, drive to the starting point for a jungle jeep safari to Gavi starting at 05.30 AM. Gavi - Spread across the Periyar Tiger Reserve is a quiet, beautiful and pristine forest haven with natural environment, intact by modernity and home to wildlife and birds. While safari, tourists can enjoy the sighting of wildlife in their natural habitat, endangered species like Nilgiri Tahr, Lion-tailed macaque and elephants among others. Gavi is also a home to more than 260 species of birds including the great pied hornbill, woodpecker, and kingfishers. Gavi is also famous among birdwatchers. Here, you will trek to Pullumedu peak offer a panoramic view of the famed Sabarimala shrine. Enjoy a half an hour boating on the crystal clear Gavi reservoir and Kochupamba to take home memory of a lifetime that remains as clear as the Gavi lake. Later, return back to hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10

THEKKADY – ALLEPPEY

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Alleppey (100 Kms/2.5 Hrs). Upon arrival, board houseboat for charming backwater cruise. Freshly cooked food will be served on houseboat. Alleppey - This is a quaint town flanked by the Arabian Sea in the west and has a vast network of lakes, lagoons and freshwater rivers criss-crossing it. It is an important backwater destination attracting several thousand foreign / domestic tourists every year and is also famous for its boat races, beaches, marine products and coir industry. Dinner and overnight stay onboard houseboat.

Day 11

ALLEPPEY – COCHIN (60 KMS/ 1.5 HRS)

enjoy your breakfast onboard. Later, disembark from the houseboat around 0900 hrs and drive to Cochin. Upon arrival at Cochin, check-in at hotel. Afternoon, start your half day sightseeing tour visiting Jew Street - which is famous for the Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town, St. Francis Church - first European church built in India in the early 16th century and the famed Vasco Da Gama was buried in this courtyard. Also visit Dutch Palace in Mattanchery. (Jewish Synagogue - Open: 10.00 am –12.00pm, 3.00pm –5.00pm. Closed on Friday /Saturday & Jewish holidays) (Dutch Palace - Open: 10.00am – 5.00pm. Closed on Fridays). Walk through the Jew Street - fascinating & vibrant Narrow Street with many shops selling handicrafts, souvenirs, Antiques & Ethnic Garments. Later proceed to Fort Kochi and visit Famous Chinese fishing nets. Evening enjoy Kathakali Dance show. Overnight stay at the hotel.
